Academic Programs

The RVCS curriculum covers all the middle school standards—
and much more.

The RVCS project-based curriculum engages students as it presents them with the opportunity to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Our close community of educators works as a unit to integrate subjects and concepts across academic disciplines to enhance learning. Immediate access to laptops and other technology inspires our students to take their projects to the next level. Extended field trips and campus-wide opportunities for sports, leadership, and service learning provide pivotal experiences for both personal and academic growth.

Proven Results

While RVCS test scores compare very favorably with other area middle schools, the RVCS approach to middle school is probably best described by our students and their families:

RVCS is a shining example of the future of middle schools. Smaller class sizes and individual attention kept my son engaged and challenged academically; class field trips and after-school activities gave him a strong sense of community. The emphasis on technology is far beyond what most schools offer and gave my son practical, hands-on knowledge. The emphasis on critical thinking has taught my son not what to think, but how to think.

Karen Greinke, parent of two RVCS graduates

The RVCS experience was excellent. Both our children benefited from the smaller community, technology-enabled and integrated curricula, and committed teacher environment of RVCS.
